About Ingleside Design Company
Ingleside comes from an old English word for "fireside" or "hearthside." I found it fitting for a company and artist that emphasizes telling stories and many times incorporating fantasy into my work, just like tales told around a fireside. I also imagine each spark of light flickering off of a rhinestone as embers popping out of the logs of a warm fire within a welcoming hearth.
Ingleside Design Company began as a way to bring together several passions. Originally a cross stitch design company under the name Ingleside Imaginarium, I have now combined my love for stitched artwork with a penchant for rhinestones I discovered by working for a costume shop in New York City, embellishing costumes for the Broadway stage, movies, theme parks, and more.

My name is Brittany Church, and I am the artist and owner behind Ingleside Design Company. After moving to New York City to pursue musical theatre performance, I found an amazing opportunity to work at a costume shop in the heart of the Fashion District. On day one of working at John Kristiansen New York, I learned the method for applying rhinestones to costumes, fell in love with the sparks and never looked back. I eventually became the rhinestone specialist, working with owner John Kristiansen and costume designers to create thoughtful and effective rhinestone formations. While employed there, I rhinestoned costumes worn by Cher for her 2019 tour, as well as countless Broadway productions, including Six, Cats, MJ, Come From Away, Chicago, and On Your Feet. My rhinestone work was also seen in the James Bond film, No Time To Die, and around the country in Disney's Encanto On Ice. I still work with JKNY from my new location doing rhinestone and embroidery work.

After working with John Kristiansen New York for 5 years, the 2020 pandemic hit and the theatre world shut down. Though I was able to return to NYC for a year, I decided to try a new city and new direction... and ended up in Nashville, Tennessee in November of 2021! I made the move, bringing along a dream of finding a chainstitch embroidery machine and creating my own embellished designs. I acquired a vintage Cornely machine, and am currently working on creating a collection of products for retail at craft fairs, markets, and popups, as well as online at this website. In a wild turn of events, I made a connection with Dolly Parton's wonderful Nashville wardrobe team, including Steve Summers and Iisha Lemming, embellishing multiple outfits, guitars, and shoes for the country legend.
I am absolutely ecstatic to be part of the booming community of Nashville artists, and can't wait to create more custom and one of a kind pieces.
