The Keramos Bestiary - 2021 Mystery Stitch Along - Greek Mythology - PDF Download
Ingleside Imaginarium's fifth Mystery Stitch-Along enters the world of Ancient Greek Pottery and Mythology, and the iconic creatures that we still tell stories about today!
We will be stitching through the mythological world of Ancient Greece, and discovering some of the iconic and interesting creatures that roam there.
This Stitch Along is now complete. When you purchase the pattern, you will have all necessary pieces to stitch the entire pattern.
The shape and style of this Stitch-Along is heavily inspired by Ancient Greek pottery and the elaborate painting that decorated it. This decoration often consisted of patterned bands along the circumference of the piece with scenes of stylized figures, which were often creatures or characters from Greek mythology. This sampler mimics the “black-figure” style, and with its light tan background, specifically Corinthian pottery, since the clay from Ancient Corinth was a similar color. Black-figure pottery features a dark figure on a lighter clay background, with a painted line providing the detail of the characters.
This pattern contains A LOT of backstitch and only a few fractional stitches.
This listing contains the the "border" or Amphora shape for the Stitch-Along, as well as the first through tenth months' creature, Pegasus, the Siren, the Sphinx, the Gryphon, the Hydra, the Chimera, the Centaur, Cerberus, the Minotaur, the Ketos, the Hippocampus, and the Minoan Octopus.
